Sign up for U3A National Newsletter

Message from Marie Geary, Secretary Carmarthen U3A

We cannot continue contacting you with our own Newsletter because Caralinda is unable to do so  – any news will arrive through our own website.
It is advised that all U3A groups should remain virtual and not face to face. Not only does this keep us safe but also keeps us within Government guidelines and within the limits of public liability insurance.
If you sign up a bitesize Newsletter from National Office will arrive as an email. Members on email can download it  and pop it in the post box of someone they know does not have email.
On the  National website there is a weekly quiz. Last week it was Town Anagrams. Answers come the following week. There is also a Maths Challenge
And you can learn about Zoom for video conferencing.
There is an amusing link to Matt Lucas and his mother (a U3A member) on Twitter.
Do take care.  Marie

Lock-down jokes

Marie Geary offers some entertainment in these challenging times!

)  Half of us are going to come out of this lockdown as amazing cooks. The other half will have a drinking problem

2)  Every few days try your jeans on to make sure they fit. Pyjamas would have you believe that all is well.

3)  Home schooling is going well.  2 students suspended for fighting and one teacher fired on the job.

4)  My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant that when I pee it cleans the toilet.

5)  I’m so excited……… time to put the bins out………….what will I wear?

Keep well everyone and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Marie Geary, Acting Secretary, Carmarthen U3A
